Gasping for a breath and swallowing tears, a dad stands beside a gravesite. Isaac had just lost his wife a month ago. Right after that, his only son appeared to be missing. Isaac thought at first that Evan was just taking some time to be alone. Evan and Mom had been close. It must be hard for Evan, he'd thought. But, it was hard for him too ...and he longed for Evan to be by his side. Isaac didn't want to be alone. But, he felt he should respect Evan's feelings.

Evan continued to be away, and it concerned Isaac.  He was worried about his son ...they were close too, and he felt his son needed him as much as he needed his son.

Isaac was grieving hard about losing his wife.  He hadn't heard the news of the mine caving in ...and he didn't hear about them working to open it up again.  He only heard when word came to him about the wallet found in the pocket of the dead body they retrieved.

It didn't make any sense to Isaac why his son would have been in that mining tunnel ...but it didn't matter. Nothing made any sense.  Details seemed irrelevant.  The cold hard facts were before him as he stood before the two gravesites ...of his wife and his son.

Actually, there were only two people who knew of how it happened ...and one was in the grave, the other struggling for his life in the hospital.
